Stress-Free Marriage Visa, Simplified for You
A marriage visa, also known as a spousal visa, allows a foreign national to obtain permanent residence in the United States based on their marriage to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. This process is designed to unite married couples and enable them to build a life together in the U.S.
At Immigration Law, PLLC, we understand that navigating the complexities of the marriage visa process can be overwhelming and stressful. That's why our experienced immigration attorneys are dedicated to simplifying the process and providing personalized support every step of the way.
The marriage visa process involves several key steps:
Establishing eligibility: The foreign spouse must be legally married to a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and the marriage must be bona fide (entered into in good faith).
Filing the petition: The U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse must file Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) on behalf of the foreign spouse.
Applying for the green card: Once the I-130 is approved, the foreign spouse can apply for permanent residence through consular processing (if abroad) or adjustment of status (if already in the U.S.).
Providing evidence of a genuine marriage: The couple must demonstrate that their marriage is authentic and not entered into solely for immigration benefits. This can include documentation such as joint financial accounts, shared living arrangements, and photographs.
Attending the interview: The couple will typically be interviewed by USCIS to assess the legitimacy of their marriage.
Obtaining a marriage visa is crucial for foreign nationals who wish to live permanently with their U.S. citizen or permanent resident spouse. Without this visa, the foreign spouse may be unable to remain in the U.S. long-term or may face difficulties in obtaining work authorization and other benefits.
At Immigration Law, PLLC, we believe that every couple deserves the opportunity to pursue their American dream together. Trust our compassionate and knowledgeable attorneys to simplify the marriage visa process, giving you peace of mind and allowing you to focus on your future together.
